Number of players: 2-6
Average Duration: 120’
Component Quality: Very good component quality and illustration, which is relaxing while it also achieves the title's purpose, giving an industrial feel.
Difficulty: Initially the game will give you the impression that it is quite difficult and complicated, but when you start playing you will find that it flows quite quickly and pleasantly.
Gameplay: The game mechanic is structured in a way which does not allow a player to stay ahead in scoring for long, making competition intense and interesting throughout the course of the game.
Interaction: Player interaction is not the main feature of the title, however it can be quite intense, especially in the auction phase.
Replayability: This game has great durability due to the game board, which can be used by both sides as it has a different map on each side (U.S. and Germany), and the expansions that add up to the experience.
Downtime: Although the game provides many choices to players, the time you will need to wait until your next turn is short.
Rulebook: Without being too difficult, the game has enough depth and variety of choices and the rulebook is not particularly helpful in their learning.
Power Grid is an interesting and fun game as it combines both the strategic though and bargaining skills of the players, as they try to properly manage the raw materials and money at their disposal, while also negotiating with other players through auctions.
Who is it for:
Family Gamer: Maybe. The players of this category who will be able to familiarize themselves with the rules, which initially seem very tough, are sure to love this game.
Social Gamer: No. A title with a fairly high level of difficulty, which although has the element of interaction, it is not its main feature.
Strategy Gamer: Yes. Interaction and luck are two features that exist in this game to a small extent, by making it more enjoyable without affecting the final feel of the game
Hobby Gamer: Yes. Power Grid is a balanced game with excellent component quality which will win all players of the category.
Hardcore Gamer: Yes. Competition is pretty intense, in both an indirect and direct manner, while the strategy required is quite high.
