  Thumbs Up:

Component Quality: Both the illustration and the component quality are impressive; the game has a gorgeous board and miniatures that give a beautiful aesthetic result.

Game Mechanics: A basic characteristic of the game is the sense of progress, as in every round various incidents change critically the game mechanics, while at the same time new quests are added to the already existing ones, influencing the players’ strategy to a great extent, as it’s not clear from the beginning which tactic will help you gain the most victory points. At the same time the players evolve as they will constantly enrich their army with new units, while simultaneously be able to improve most of them.

Rules: Although BioShock Infinite: the Siege of Columbia is a board game with quite a large depth, the rule book helps very much its learning. The two modes of play, with basic and developed rules is also an advantage.

  Thumbs Down:

Luck vs Strategy: Although the specific game has many strategic and tactical choices, the luck factor which results from the dice and the various events is very intense.

Game Mechanics: Even if it’s possible for four players to play in two pairs, the game is better for two players, as the duration and the downtime are greatly increased in a 4 player game.

Setup Time: The game contents in conjunction with the not well-prepared storing space, are of high importance for the game’s long setup time.

  Final Verdict:

BioShock Infinite: the Siege of Columbia is a quite rich, game for two players from every aspect, which manages to transfer its very interesting theme with great success.

  Who is it for:

Family Gamer: Maybe. The game’s topic and complexity will repel many players of this category, but the very interesting game mechanics will satisfy the most experienced ones.

Social Gamer: No. Both the number of players and the game complexity are prohibitive for the specific category.

Strategy Gamer: Maybe. On the one hand the depth of the strategic and tactic choices will definitely attract the attention of many players of this category, but on the other hand the random events and the luck factor from the dice will repel many of them.
